Decoding Skin Cancer Through Translational Research
Multiplex immunohistochemistry image of a melanoma lymph node metastasis. Melanoma cells (S100⁺/MelanA⁺) are shown in light blue, follicular dendritic cells (CD21⁺) in red, and B cells (CD79A⁺) in yellow.
Our team studies skin cancers with a focus on cutaneous melanoma, including difficult-to-treat subtypes such as acral and uveal melanoma, as well as non-melanoma skin cancers (SCC, BCC, and cutaneous lymphomas). We combine state-of-the-art single-cell and spatial multiomics with functional models - including patient-derived cultures, transgenic cell lines, and ex vivo skin systems - to dissect disease mechanisms at high resolution, revealing pathogenic cell states, therapeutic response markers, and immune-stromal interactions.
